
The Call for abstracts for CSB 2026 is open!
Abstract submission is open until 11:59 p.m. CET on May 31, 2026.

We hope you will join us in Paris, France for the 1st Conference on Solar energy and Biodiversity (CSB 2026) on 28 and 29 October 2026. The main theme of the conference is Powering the Future through Science and Collaboration: Solar, Biodiversity, and Nature in the Energy Transition.
CSB 2026 will include a range of plenary sessions, panels sessions, individual talks and posters on the topics outlined below. Although our aim is in-person attendance and live presentations, we also recognize that some individuals may face travel challenges. We are planning a hybrid event with virtual attendance and providing a pre-recorded oral presentation. These pre-recorded presentations will be available to all in-person and virtual conference attendees.
The conference’s Scientific Advisory Committee, made up of 10 international experts, will review all submitted abstracts.
Topics of the conference
The program for CSB 2026 will be structured around 7 key topics:
- Policy, governance and strategic planning
- Biodiversity impacts of solar energy systems
- Mitigation, restoration and nature-inclusive design
- PV solar energy, agriculture, and multifunctional land use
- Monitoring and assessment methods
- Innovation and future challenges
- Green finance and nature-positive investments

Call for abstracts guidelines- We invite you to submit an abstract for an oral presentation or a poster
- Contributors located outside of Europe, the United States and Canada can choose to provide an abstract for a 5-minute-long pre-recorded video presentation if they are unable to attend CSB 2026 in person
- Live oral presentations will represent the largest part of the conference. Sessions will be organized according to the topics of the conference

More information
Below are listed some general guidelines for presentations and posters. More detailed information will be sent to selected contributors later.
In-person oral presentations
- Each presentation will be 10 to 12 minutes long and will be part of a larger session (up to 6 speakers). Within these sessions, there will be 3 minutes for questions per speaker, with additional Q&A occurring at the end of each session.
On-demand oral presentations (only virtual option)
In-person posters
- A poster reception will take place at the conference on the evening of 28 October. The posters will also be on display during the breaks on 29 October.
- During poster viewing sessions, authors will be kindly asked to stand at the poster to answer questions and discuss their work with the attendees. If you have multiple posters, we will group them in the same location on the same floor, so you can present them simultaneously. The conference organisation committee can print the posters on site without an additional fee. We will there after ask you to submit the poster in PDF format at least 2 weeks before the conference.
- A prize will be offered to the best poster chosen by vote at the conference.

Approximate timeline for review and selection process:
- 31 May 2026, 11:59 pm CET: Abstracts due
- June 2026: Authors notified of abstract selection or rejection
- 15 July 2026: Deadline for selected speaker and poster presenter confirmation
- 1st September 2026: Submission of the final version of abstracts due
- 14 October 2026: Submission of posters for printing due
- 21 October 2026: Submission of presentation for review due
